Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is asking a federal appeals court to impose a law that restricts firms giving ESG-related voting guidance to companies’ shareholders.
Paxton said in Thursday filings he appealed Judge Alan Albright’s August decision halting the state law to the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Albright, of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, froze SB 2337 before it was scheduled to take effect on Sept. 1.
