Trump’s Ending of $2.5 Billion Digital Equity Grant Draws Suit

President Donald Trump‘s cancellation of a grant program that sought to provide internet to underserved communities is unlawful, a lawsuit filed in a federal court in Washington says.

Trump terminated the Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program after calling it “a RACIST and ILLEGAL $2.5 BILLION DOLLAR GIVEAWAY” in a post in his social media platform Truth Social earlier this year. But the the program, which was adopted under the Digital Equity Act, is neither racist nor illegal, according to the lawsuit filed by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. ...
