General Motors Co. has held discussions RTX Corp. and other defense contractors about helping the weapons makers increase production, a key demand of the Trump administration.
The potential partnerships would involve work similar to the automaker’s agreement with Lockheed Martin Corp., according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the talks aren’t public. GM and Lockheed earlier on Tuesday said that they would jointly explore ways to speed production of weapons as demand soars for US munitions drawn down by the wars in Iran and Ukraine.
