Hanford Nuclear Site Contractor Agrees to Labor Fraud Settlement

Hanford Mission Integration Solutions paid $3.45 million to settle claims it violated the False Claims Act by overcharging the US Department of Energy for labor hours under a multi-billion dollar contract for environmental cleanup services at the Hanford Nuclear Site.

Hanford Mission admitted that it sought and received reimbursement from the department for labor hours made up of unallowable excessive idle time, and that it didn’t schedule sufficient work to be performed by its personnel, the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington said in a Monday announcement.
