Idaho Stibnite Gold Project Clears Federal Permitting Hurdle

A mine projected to be one of the nation’s biggest gold, silver, and antimony projects has completed federal permitting and is moving now to the construction-ready stage, the Trump administration announced Wednesday.

The federal approvals of the Stibnite Gold project in central Idaho help advance the Trump administration’s goal of cranking up domestic mineral production, as laid out in a March executive order.

The project will recover more than 4 million ounces of gold over its 12-year projected lifespan, according to Perpetua Resources, the mine’s owner.
