Study Abroad Company Settles Education Department Fraud Suit (1)

Study Across the Pond LLC and the US government reached a settlement in a False Claims Act suit alleging the company caused United Kingdom schools that participate in federal student aid programs to submit false claims to the US Education Department.

The parties Feb. 20 executed the agreement that will allow for dismissal of the suit after the company makes its payment, which is due March 6, the parties told the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts in a joint status report.
