SuperValu Stops Whistleblowers’ Bid for New Trial in Fraud Case

SuperValu Inc. defeated two whistleblowers’ bid for a new trial in a prescription drug fraud suit because the jury received proper instructions before concluding in March that the company didn’t cause the US government to suffer damages.

Whistleblowers Tracy Schutte and Michael Yarberry didn’t show they and government should be compensated for the number of false claims SuperValu submitted, Judge Sue E. Myerscough said for the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
