V2X Aerospace’s $4 Billion Air Force Bid Satisfied Price Rules

The US Air Force rationally utilized price reasonableness techniques before awarding V2X Aerospace LLC a $4.3 billion contract for aircraft maintenance services, the US Court of Federal Claims said.

Protester AAR Government Services Inc., which made a $3.5 billion offer, didn’t show that the agency’s conclusion about V2X’s price reasonableness was fundamentally flawed, Judge Elaine D. Kaplan said in an opinion made public Wednesday.

Whether a contract price is reasonable is a judgment based on the specifics of an agency’s needs, the court said, and agencies enjoy a wide latitude when evaluating price reasonableness.
