Bridgewater Quant Analyst Among Crypto Firm’s Wave of New Hires

A former Bridgewater Associates quantitative analyst is among a wave of new additions to crypto firm Bitwise Asset Management Inc. in recent weeks.

Varun Kao has joined the San Francisco-based digital-asset manager as a quantitative developer located in New York, according to his LinkedIn page. The company said it has also brought on Charles McLellan as associate portfolio manager from Bank of New York Mellon and Claudia Beranzoli, previously at Amundi, as associate counsel.
