Mersinger to Depart CFTC, Join Blockchain Association as CEO (1)

Summer Mersinger plans to join the Blockchain Association as chief executive officer after she departs the Commodity Futures Trading Commission at the end of month.

“This is a pivotal moment for crypto policy, and we are confident that she is the ideal leader to take Blockchain Association, and the industry, to new heights,” Marta Belcher, president of the board of the Blockchain Association, said in a statement Wednesday.

The move comes after Kristin Smith said she would be stepping down as CEO of the association that advocates on behalf of crypto companies.
