Chicago-based accounting firm Crowe is weighing whether it should sell a stake to private-equity investors, a move that would thrust it into a pack of middle-market firms engaged in such dealmaking.
Crowe is in the preliminary stages of considering whether or not to sell a minority or majority stake to one or several private equity investors. The evaluation comes amid an “ambitious growth strategy” that requires investment in people and technology, CEO Steven Strammello said in a statement.
“We are responsibly exploring options that could accelerate that long-term strategy,” Strammello’s statement said.
