Delaware’s Leo Strine Urges Business Leaders to Back Rule of Law

One of corporate law’s most influential jurists Thursday called on business executives, university officials, and law firm leaders to stand up forcefully against President Donald Trump’s escalating attacks on the rule of law.

Former Delaware Chief Justice Leo Strine, who also previously served as chancellor—chief of the state’s elite trial-level business court—delivered the cri de coeur at the end of a keynote address to roughly 200 attorneys, judges, and professors assembled at the University of Delaware.

His speech was met with a sustained standing ovation from virtually everyone in the room.
