After the Trump administration shrunk the IRS workforce by a quarter, gas distributor Airgas anticipates state tax authorities could become more aggressive, said Bonnie Baskin, the company’s deputy vice president of income tax.
“That is a legitimate concern if the states are going to become a little more sophisticated and hire that talent from the IRS,” Baskin said during a Wednesday panel at the Philadelphia Tax Conference.
