Louisiana is updating the process for minors to apply for and obtain employment certificates, under a bill effective May 11.
Minors, with parental consent, must complete an employment certificate form and submit it directly to the employer for approval, under HB 232. An employment certificate is valid once the employer receives an employment certificate form from the minor and the employer can verify the minor’s age, under the bill.
