Republicans Seek to Block DC Move to Decouple from 2025 Tax Law

Washington, DC, legislation to decouple its tax code from portions of the 2025 GOP tax law would be overturned under measures set for action in both chambers of Congress.

The House could vote on a resolution (H. J. Res. 142) to disapprove of tax legislation enacted in December by the DC Council (A26-0217) the week of Feb. 2, with the Rules Committee scheduled to take it up Monday.
