UK Carillion’s Former CEO to Protest Fine at Hearing Next Month

The former head of Carillion plc will challenge a fine from the UK’s markets watchdog for his role in the construction group’s collapse before a tribunal next month.

Former Carillion CEO Richard Howson at a Feb. 16 hearing will protest a £397,800 ($535,956) fine announced in 2022, the Financial Conduct Authority said as part of a statement Wednesday announcing two of the company’s former finance directors had accepted penalties for their failure to flag problems at the construction giant. Howson didn’t respond to a request for comment.

The FCA said it had fined Richard Adam and Zafar Khan £232,800 ($313,831) ...
