Apple Watch Imports Continue as Judge Presses for ITC Review (1)

A federal judge deferred ruling on a request to block redesigned Apple Watch imports and pushed Masimo Corp. and Apple Inc. to quickly seek updated guidance from the trade agency that previously imposed an import ban.

Judge Ana C. Reyes said during a hearing Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia that she’s “highly skeptical” Masimo is entitled to a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction blocking redesigned Apple Watch imports under the US International Trade Commission’s patent-based ban because monetary damages could remedy any harm to the medical-device company.
