The Energy Department would be required to produce periodic assessments of supply chain trends, risks, and vulnerabilities affecting electricity generation and transmission under H.R. 3638.

The bill is part of a broader legislative effort to strengthen the US electric grid reliability, expand domestic energy production, and power artificial intelligence data centers.
