Idaho can’t enforce a law that denies transgender prisoners access to hormone therapy until a court decides on whether to renew an order blocking its application to them, a federal court said.
A 2024 injunction against the state will stay in place until the US District Court for the District of Idaho determines whether it can be renewed for an eighth time, Judge David C. Nye said Thursday. Nye issued a temporary restraining order that bridges the gap between the order’s scheduled May 31 expiration and the date the court decides on whether to lift it.
