Compass Minerals’ Mining Investor Deal Gets Final Court Approval

Compass Minerals International Inc.‘s board and top executives earned a federal judge’s final approval of a settlement to resolve shareholder allegations that current and former leaders misrepresented the costs and capacity of an upgrade to the company’s salt mining system.

The investors’ counsel will get $1.4 million in attorneys’ fees, reimbursed expenses, and plaintiffs’ awards in the deal, which included Compass Minerals appointing a chief accounting officer, Judge Eric F.
