Drug Lobby Loses Latest Bid to Block Tennessee Pharmacy Law

A leading pharmaceutical trade group lost its bid to block a Tennessee law regulating how drug companies are allowed to contract with pharmacies in the state.

The US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee on Monday denied a request from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, a key trade group representing the interests of companies including Eli Lilly & Co., Novo Nordisk A/S, and Merck & Co., for a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of the Tennessee Hospital Act.
