FDA Has Until June to Decide on PFAS Limits in Food, Court Rules

A federal judge gave the Food and Drug Administration until June 30 to decide whether it will establish limits for the amount of PFAS allowed in foods such as fruits and vegetables.

The Wednesday order from the US District Court for the District of Arizona grants the FDA’s request for more time to act on a citizen petition and lawsuits seeking to limit the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as forever chemicals, in food.
