Hargreaves Lansdown, Schroders Open Private Funds to UK Savers

UK retail investors with self invested personal pensions are to be offered access to some private market investments for the first time through a tie-up between Hargreaves Lansdown Plc and Schroders Capital.

The funds platform will begin offering access to a pair of long term asset funds managed by Schroders Plc’s private markets unit, according to a statement Monday. It is the first time that the new alternative assets funds have been made available through so called self invested personal pension plans that provide tax relief on contributions and are exempt from capital gains and taxes on dividends.
