The Trump administration plans to survey safety-net hospitals on the amount they pay for prescription drugs, following up on an effort to reduce the hospitals’ Medicare drug reimbursement during the president’s first term.
The Medicare outpatient prescription drug acquisition cost survey was announced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in July and finalized Friday in the hospital outpatient prospective pay rule (RIN 0938–AV51).
