A natural products trade group that sued the FDA over how it identified a dietary supplement voluntarily dropped their lawsuit against the agency.
The Natural Products Association’s notice to voluntarily dismiss the case without prejudice, filed Oct. 31 in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, ends a legal challenge brought last year against the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to exclude ß-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide from the definition of dietary supplement under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act’s drug exclusion clause.
The supplement may help improve insulin sensitivity and heart function.
