The Trump administration’s pause on Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood continues to loom over the organization after a federal appeals court declined to reconsider its order staying a lower court’s pause on the cuts.
The decision Thursday from a three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit denies an emergency motion by Planned Parenthood to reassess the court’s Sept. 11 ruling effectively allowing the US Department of Health and Human Services to begin withholding Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood for one year beginning Oct. 1.
