Religious Legal Group Sues to Stop HHS Reproductive Privacy Rule

A religious legal group sued the Biden administration Monday in federal district court in Texas to block an HHS rule that its complaint says would illegally restrict “doctors’ ability to report abuse and states’ ability to protect children from abortion and gender transition drugs and surgeries.”

The suit, filed in US District Court for the Northern District of Texas by attorneys for the Alliance Defending Freedom, targets the HIPAA Privacy Rule to Support Reproductive Health Care Privacy (RIN 0945-AA20), which took effect in June.
