The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted Thursday to advance two Federal Energy Regulatory Commission nominees to the full Senate.
President Donald Trump over the summer nominated Laura Swett from Vinson & Elkins LLP to replace a seat vacated by Republican FERC Chair Mark Christie, and he nominated David LaCerte to replace former Democratic commissioner Willie L. Phillips. Both Swett and LaCerte advanced on a 12-8 vote.
If confirmed by the Senate, Swett’s term would expire in June 2030 while LaCerte’s term would expire in June 2026.
