The Trump administration announced a deal with Alaska on Wednesday to more quickly build critical infrastructure projects within the state.
Under the new memorandum of understanding, the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council will provide its services to select projects within Alaska, including dedicated staff, regular meetings with project sponsors, and specialized tools to speed the process.
The agreement is the first of its kind between the Steering Council and a state.
