The Trump administration is employing a little-used immigration provision to try to deport a Palestinian activist with permanent residency status in the US.
Mahmoud Khalil, a recent student at Columbia University, was arrested by immigration officers over the weekend after months of helping lead anti-Israel protests at the Ivy League campus. While US officials cited his support for Hamas — a designated terrorist organization — as justification for his detention, his attorneys say it’s intended to silence his free speech.
The White House said Tuesday his residency was revoked by Secretary of State
