Amazon has “systemically” discriminated against pregnant workers and those with disabilities in New Jersey over the last two years, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin (D) said in a lawsuit filed Wednesday.
A state investigation found Amazon routinely violated warehouse workers rights under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination when considering the more than 27,000 accommodation requests the company received in the last two years.
Violations included refusing accommodations, retaliating against employees, and putting pregnant workers on unpaid leave while considering their requests, Platkin said in the complaint filed in the Superior Court in Essex County.
