Denver Public Schools is suing to block the Trump administration’s decision to rescind a decades-old policy that limited immigration raids in protected areas such as schools.
The only reason given for the new policy was to prevent “criminal aliens” from hiding in schools, according to a US Department of Homeland Security Jan. 21 memo that DPS cited in their complaint. But DHS’ memo didn’t discuss any further rationale for rescinding the old policy, DPS says.
