State lawmakers across the country are trying to impede President Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement with some officials pushing to outlaw federal use of local jail beds.
More than half a dozen states, including California, New Jersey and Illinois, already limit agreements between public entities and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and New York and Rhode Island are considering related proposals. Just last week,
