Rivers across the Pacific Northwest were on the rise again Wednesday as heavy rain pummeled a region that was already seeing major flooding earlier this week.
Washington Governor Bob Ferguson declared a statewide emergency and urged the Trump administration to issue a federal emergency declaration to unlock funds he said were necessary to “help individuals save their homes and their property.”
“The impact on Washingtonians is significant now, and it’s going to be significant in the coming days,” Ferguson said. “This situation is extremely serious.”
