Humana Buys Clinic Operator MaxHealth From Arsenal Capital

Humana Inc. has acquired MaxHealth in a deal that will combine the Florida operator of health-care clinics with the insurer’s CenterWell Senior Primary Care division.

Financial terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed in a statement Friday by the companies. Bloomberg News reported Thursday that Humana was nearing a deal to buy MaxHealth from private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners for about $1 billion.

The deal follows comments by Humana Chief Executive Officer Jim Rechtin during an earnings call this week that the company hoped to announce a primary care acquisition soon.
