Houston’s Memorial Hermann Health System must face a lawsuit by workers challenging the fee levels and target-date funds associated with their retirement plans.
Judge Alfred H. Bennett greenlighted allegations that Memorial Hermann filled the plans with underperforming target-date funds from non-party JPMorgan Chase & Co. and paid excessive recordkeeping and administrative fees. Bennett’s one-page order, docketed Sept. 22 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas, adopts a magistrate judge’s report deeming the claims viable.
