As the U.S.-China solar dispute escalates, it could end up impacting imports of components from Southeast Asia, which is home to the U.S.’s largest solar photovoltaic suppliers. According to BloombergNEF, the U.S. imported $7.73 billion worth of solar PV products in 2020, of which more than $6 billion came from just three countries -- Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. By comparison, mainland China accounted for just $286 million of U.S. solar imports last year.
