Hanwha Secures Army Lease for Munitions Plant in Arkansas

The US Army is planning to lease land to a South Korean defense firm at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas for a munitions facility, as the Pentagon tries to speed up domestic production.

Hanwha Defense USA Inc., which is a US subsidiary of Seoul-based Hanwha Aerospace Co., plans to invest roughly $1.3 billion to build a munitions facility on the US military installation, the company announced Wednesday.
