Illumina Inc. said the Chinese government has lifted a ban on the company selling its DNA sequencing machines inside the country.
The move is a reversal from China’s previous position, which blocked the machines since early March as part of a wave of retaliatory measures against fresh US tariffs on Chinese goods.
In a statement, Illumina said the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that the ban would be lifted on Nov. 10. Chief Executive Officer Jacob Thaysen said the decision is “a very positive step forward.”
