India ‘Optimistic’ of Finalizing US Tariffs Deal by December

India is optimistic that it will strike an initial deal with the US to bring down reciprocal tariffs by next month, a top official said in New Delhi, as anticipation builds that the two sides are close to resolving tensions over levies.

“We are very optimistic and hopeful that we should find some solution this calender year,” India’s Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said at an industry event on Friday. “What needs to come out first is a framework trade deal which is able to address the reciprocal tariffs,” he said.
