Israel Offers US Trade Concession in Effort to Avoid Tariff Pain

Israel plans to make a major regulatory concession to Washington in a bid to get a better deal from President Donald Trump over tariffs, Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat said.

Israel told the US, its largest trading partner and closest ally, that it will ease import standards for US goods, the minister said, in line with a similar concession made to the European Union last year. That reform became known as ‘What’s Good for Europe is Good for Israel’.
