Lula Aims for Trump Talks in Asia, Open to Discuss Venezuela (1)

Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said he expects to meet with President Donald Trump in Malaysia this weekend to discuss any topic, including the US administration’s controversial use of military strikes against alleged drug shipments coming from Venezuela.

Brazil has been working to arrange the meeting on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit taking place this weekend, in an effort to persuade Trump to roll back tariffs imposed on Brazilian products and sanctions on the country’s Supreme Court justices, government officials, and their families.
