South Korean Parliament Passes Revamped Trade Deal With U.S.

South Korea’s parliament passed the renegotiated U.S.-South Korea trade agreement, setting up a process for implementation on Jan. 1, 2019, according to the trade ministry.

  • Parliament completed all the domestic procedures for the Korus pact to take effect, according to the trade ministry statement.
  • The Korean government will work with the U.S. to ensure the implementation of the agreement on Jan. 1, as agreed, the South Korean ministry says.
