US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modistruck an upbeat tone at their first in-person meeting in more than a year, aiming to turn the page on recent strains caused by trade and other disputes.

The two leaders highlighted their personal rapport and touted progress in negotiations at their meeting on the sidelines of a Group of Seven summit in France, with Trump saying the US and India were “very close” to finalizing a long-awaited trade agreement.
