Amazon Accuses Attorney, Chinese Trademark Companies of Fraud

Amazon.com Inc. sued a US-based attorney and Chinese companies over thousands of allegedly fraudulent trademark registrations and takedown notices.

California-based attorney Kathy Hao allowed her signature to be used by Shenzhen Seller Growth Network Technology Co. and other entities, the complaint in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said. Hao was suspended from practicing before the US Patent and Trademark Office for six months for improper signatures in 2022, and Seller Growth was banned from activity before the PTO in August.
