The Dutch government’s unprecedented move to take control of Nexperia last month was triggered in part by the former Chinese chief executive officer’s plans to ship some of the chipmaker’s machines from sites in Germany and the UK.
Alongside packing up equipment, he intended to transfer patents to China from the Netherlands, according to people close to the situation. The new details reveal the extent of efforts to hobble Nexperia’s European operations in favor of parent Wingtech Technology Co., said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitive nature of the dispute.
