Stanley Cup Maker Settles Stanley Black & Decker Trademark Suit

The manufacturer of “Stanley”-branded cups settled Stanley Black & Decker Inc.'s trademark lawsuit accusing the company of violating agreements limiting its use of the shared name.

Pacific Market International LLC and Stanley Black & Decker filed a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice on Dec. 23 in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. Judge Sarah F. Russell issued an order on Dec. 24 dismissing Stanley Black & Decker’s claims of breach of contract, trademark infringement, unfair competition.

Stanley Black & Decker sued PMI in February, alleging PMI “willfully and intentionally ignored the carefully crafted restrictions” in various agreements. ...
