Waste Firm Says Ex-Employee Smuggled Pricing Secrets to Rival

Oil-field waste-management company Spirit Energy Services LLC accused an ex-employee of jumping to competitor Bass Environemntal LLC and using stolen trade secrets to badmouth it to customers.

Joseph Taylor downloaded customer and pricing data weeks before formally applying for a job at Bass, quitting Spirit, and lying about his next career move, Spirit said in an Oct. 31 complaint in the US District Court for the District of West Virginia. Taylor and a Bass representative tried to poach customers while Taylor still worked for Spirit Energy, part of a pattern of “slandering and disparaging” it with claims it was “gouging” ...
