As the WNBA and players stare down the expiration of their collective bargaining agreement, some of the league’s closest watchers say a lockout or walkout appears unlikely.
“One thing I do know for sure is that everyone wants to keep the product on the floor,” said Chiney Ogwumike, a former Los Angeles Sparks player-turned-ESPN analyst.
“Right now, it’s crunch time and hopefully all parties — which I believe they are — are working toward reconciliation and moving forward because this is the momentum that women’s sports have been dreaming of,” she said.
