Uncertainty about the constitutionality of the SEC’s use of in-house judges won’t stop the Wall Street regulator from going after bad actors, including auditors, the agency’s enforcement director said Wednesday.
The Securities and Exchange Commission will pursue cases in federal court as it awaits Supreme Court clarity on its use of administrative law judges to handle civil enforcement cases, SEC Enforcement Director Gurbir Grewal said at an SEC enforcement conference in Washington.
